The jump is over. The selling begins.
From the moment they land, every guest gets their own media page, even without a booked package. Anything they haven't bought yet is shown with a watermark. When they buy, the system unlocks the full version by itself, even weeks later.
From "Landed" to the full version, without anyone moving files around.
Manifest, editing station, NAS and media page all work with the same data. At every point, the booked package decides whether the guest gets the full version or the preview.
- 1Manifest
Landing
One click on "Landed" marks all guests of the load as jumped. Each one gets media access with an 8-digit code, even without booked media. The package is recorded along with it.
- 2Station
Editing
The station knows guest, load, tandem instructor and package from the manifest. It edits three videos and the photo selection. Anything not booked is additionally produced with a watermark.
- Desk
Still at the dropzone, at the desk
As soon as the station has finished editing, the guest sees their jump on the desk iPad on the local network, before anything has been uploaded. One button puts the purchase request in the guest list.
- 3NAS
Backup
The project goes to the NAS, every file is verified by checksum. After an adjustable buffer time for re-edits, the upload begins.
- 4Cloud storage
Upload per package
For each video, the NAS uploads either the full version or the preview. The best-of also goes into permanent storage, the originals stay on the NAS.
- 5Manifest
Email hold
Email and SMS (if set up) only go out once every video and the photo ZIP are actually available. Otherwise sending waits and retries every 5 minutes and after each NAS notification.
- 6Guest
Media page and purchase
The guest sees their actual jump, unpurchased items as a preview. They buy video, photos or combo in their own checkout, with their details already filled in.
- 7Manifest → NAS → guest
Unlocking
After payment, the manifest creates a rush job. The NAS uploads the full version, then the guest gets an email. At most one post-sale email goes out after each purchase.
Editing happens at the dropzone; the raw videos don't need to go to a cloud first. In day-to-day use, a Mac mini does the editing. The iPad as a station is new and being trialed.
Up to four opportunities per guest. Two on site, two afterwards.
The guest doesn't decide just once. The software offers them video and photos wherever they feel like it: before the jump, right after landing, later at home and once more a few days later.
The upgrade offer at check-in
In the third of five steps, the iPad asks about an upgrade. The request then appears in the guest list, and the desk takes payment before the guest boards the plane.
At the desk, cash or card
Your own jump at the desk
The station first finishes what hasn't been booked and shows it full-screen. On the media station iPad at the desk, the guest sees their media straight from the Mac editing station and taps "add on". On request, the station emails up to 10 selected photos right away, with a link to the media page.
At the desk, cash or card
The personal media page
Email and SMS lead to the guest's page. Purchase cards only exist for material that was actually produced: video, photos or combo, and for partial buyers the upgrade to combo.

Simplified view with sample data
Preview before. Full version after.
The guest sees their actual jump. The watermark is tiled diagonally across the whole image, not a small logo in the corner. After payment, the page reports "Your purchase is being processed". As soon as the NAS has uploaded the full version, the same page shows it with download buttons.
- 3 videos in Full HD
- 30 days download
- All 208 photos
- ZIP download
Simplified view with sample data. You set the prices in your shop.
- No login. The page opens via the personal code, also via short link from the SMS.
- Built for the phone. The download button shows the progress and opens the share dialog on the phone.
- With a deadline. The page shows the days until expiry. As long as something is still in progress, it refreshes itself.
Three videos, a photo series and a bonus.
From the handcam video, the station creates all versions at once, and in 1-camera operation the photos as well. They are sold individually or as a combo.
Main video with music
The whole jump from the briefing to the landing. The music is timed to the jump: the peak of the song lands exactly on the exit.
Best-of
The best moments of each scene, selected by face and smile. Exit and parachute opening are always included.
Reel
Portrait format for Instagram and TikTok, starts with the exit.
Photo selection and ZIP
Around 200 photos from the 4K video, plus a series of the exit. The gallery shows the 20 best, all of them come as a ZIP.
Bonus for buyers: the original clips
Anyone who owns the video can request the unedited camera footage free of charge, in the camera's resolution, so in 4K for 4K handcams. If the guest buys the video online via their media page, this happens automatically. The NAS packs the clips as a ZIP, and the download is available for one week from the request.
The edited videos are H.264 files at around 10 Mbit/s, in 1-camera operation with a 4K handcam in Full HD. 4K is only available for the original clips.
What happens if …
These rules emerged from day-to-day operation. Manifest staff don't touch the media path in everyday use; they only deal with the exceptions.
… a guest cancels or gets a refund?
Then the system revokes the unlock. Exempt is anything that was part of the booked package or was paid for in another order.
Cancellation… something purchased is missing after the upload?
Then the NAS reports the guest as an error instead of done. They appear in red in the media center, and the guest doesn't get an email with an empty link.
Final check new… a guest buys three weeks later?
Even then, nobody has to click anything. If the project is already in the archive, the NAS retrieves it by itself and uploads the full version.
Rush job… the internet at the dropzone is down?
Without internet, the NAS pauses the upload and resumes by itself afterwards. If the manifest can't be reached, it postpones the upload instead of uploading only the preview.
Retry… a guest still needs their link after 30 days?
The page then shows "Link expired" with a contact button. In the admin, you extend it by 30 days with one click. The validity period is adjustable and restarts after a later purchase.
Validity… many guests finish at once on a busy day?
The NAS first uploads those who booked a combo, then those who booked video or photos, then guests without a package. New jobs take priority over retries.
OrderOne glance shows what's stuck.
For each guest and jump day, the media status is shown in one line. Errors are at the top. For exceptions there are buttons instead of the database.
Simplified view with sample data
Shows the package after all purchases and, below it, separates on-site upgrade, online later purchase and goodwill. For purchases, the order number, amount and payment method are listed.
Editing stations and NAS check in with the manifest every minute. If the NAS stays silent for longer, the Uploads tab warns first in yellow, then in red.
If an edit has failed, you select a station in the admin. It retrieves the verified raw footage from the NAS and reports when it is ready for editing.
Whoever sells sees it in their credit note.
The system calculates fee, camera surcharge and post-sale bonus from the booked package. If a guest adds video or photos at the desk after the jump, it includes the bonus for their tandem instructor right away.
- No reconciling two settlements. Media sales, jump and credit note are in the same system.
- Credit note as PDF with a sequential number, plus a transfer list for your banking software.
- Everyone sees their own figures: jumps, finished videos of their guests and credit notes in their own portal.
- If a recording is marked as deficient, the system deducts the share and shows beforehand how much.
1Upgrade at the desk after the jump: Paul Janssen jumped without media (line above) and bought the combo afterwards. Surcharge and bonus are added as a separate line.
2Landing with booked combo: Fee and camera surcharge straight from the package (Jonas Albers).

To media sales
When does the guest get their email?
When everything is available. After editing, the station backs up the project to the NAS. After an adjustable buffer time for re-edits, the upload begins, and the email only goes out once every video and the photo ZIP are reachable. That's why we don't promise a fixed time. At most one post-sale email goes out after each purchase. Even before that, the guest sees their jump on the desk iPad as soon as the station is done.
What equipment do we need at the dropzone?
An editing station (Mac mini; the iPad is new and being trialed), a NAS on the local network with our upload service, and internet. The finished media are stored for the guests in cloud storage, the originals stay on your NAS. For on-site sales, add one iPad for check-in and one at the desk.
How does the guest pay?
Online in your shop's media checkout, with Mollie (for example card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, SEPA) or PayPal. Their details are pre-filled, the invoice goes to them. On site, your desk takes cash or card.
What about guests who don't want to be filmed?
Recordings can be blocked per guest at the manifest desk; the station sees the note in its day list. Purchase cards only appear for material that was actually produced. In the post-jump kiosk, the guest can tick a box to object to their footage being used for advertising; this is then recorded in the signed PDF and in the media administration.
Buy a video yourself in your demo.
In your own instance of "Skydive Nordlicht", you open a guest's media page, buy with a test card and watch the preview turn into the full version. Payments are only simulated; no emails go to real guests.
